Your Mission

We are looking for a school counselor for Bergviksskolan, Mo and Stråtjära school.

Alternatively, other schools within the municipality. The position is a temporary contract lasting from March 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027. As a school counselor, you will be part of the student health team consisting of the principal, school nurse, special educator, counselor, and school psychologist.

You will primarily work with other professionals in the schools and within the student health team to promote health and prevent issues at the individual, group, and organizational levels. You will also be part of a professional network and have access to process guidance.

You have a genuine interest and a desire to support students in achieving their goals in school based on an inclusive approach. Your tasks include conversations with students, both individually and in groups, collaboration with guardians, other organizations, and authorities outside the school, as well as conducting social school investigations regarding individual students.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work, behavioral science, or a similar higher education that the employer considers equivalent.

You have documented knowledge and experience in supportive work with children and adolescents. You also have knowledge and experience in collaborating with other functions and authorities within social services and regions/counties. Previous experience as a school counselor is an advantage.

We are looking for someone who is self-driven and enjoys taking responsibility, while also being stable and secure in their professional role. You find it easy to build relationships and establish trust with students, guardians, and colleagues. Your empathetic ability is strong, and you have a genuine interest in supporting and helping young people in various situations.
